While local prep talents Montrel Carter
and Evan Tatford
are focused on final district games this week, both athletes still have the Cajuns on their short list of potential suitors.
Both Carter and Tatford took time out of their weekly schedule of homework to talk with the Cajun Redzone.

Which programs are calling you every week?
"I get calls from Tulane, Memphis and UL every week," said Tatford. "Coach Lichtenberger from Tulane, Coach Fouquier from UL and Coach Scott from Memphis call me every week about coming in for an official visits. I visited Memphis this past weekend, they lost but I did enjoy the visit."

Montrel Carter has had an electric season, rushing for over 1, 093 yards, 13 touchdowns and 4 touchdowns on returns. What were Carter's comments on this week's matchup against rival Teurlings High?
"They are a very good team, we beat them in Lafayette last season, so we are confident," said Carter. "Coach told us that this game was important because the winner will probably have a better matchup the first week of the playoffs then the loser. I know a lot of those guys, so this will be a big game."
Has Carter taken any visits lately and which schools are still in contact?
"I haven't taken any other unofficial visits other then the one to UL earlier in the season," Montrel stated. "Tulsa, Memphis and Northwestern State have asked me to come up and visit, but I haven't had the time to take unofficial visits to those schools."
What are his plans for the rest of the season?
"I'm trying to focus on the game this week and the playoffs," said Carter. "After the season is over, I'm planning on visiting Tulsa, Memphis, Northwestern, UL and maybe Tulane. Those might be my official visits, but I haven't made any final decisions yet."
What is the latest on Montrel Carters academics?
"I took the ACT last Saturday, so we won't know the score for a while," Montrel stated. "I've done well in the classroom, and my GPA has improved so far this year. My academic status will be a lot better then is was last year."
