Quick Hits with Micah Eugene

Acadiana High's Micah Eugene was celebrating the Rams 56-33 win over cross-town rival Lafayette High when we caught up with him. Eugene had a few minutes for the Cajun Redzone late Thursday night.

After a big victory over cross-town rival Lafayette High, Micah Eugene was excited about the Rams opportunity to play in the 5A state playoffs after Acadiana High had to forfeit four games due to playing and ineligible player. The "5-10", 185-pound Eugene came into the game with 1,041 yards, on 111 carries and 14 TDs. Micah spoke about tonight's win.

"It was a big win for us," Eugene stated. "We didn't play our best game, but the win was great and Lafayette High came out fired up. The win gets us into the playoffs, but we won't know much until Sunday."

The Acadiana Rams finished 5-5 on the season with the win last night. Eugene had several more long runs in last night's game, including a 75-yard and 21-yard runs for touchdowns. What's the latest on Micah's recruitment?

"Miami-Ohio and Memphis have talked to me about taking a visit," said Micah. "LSU and Alabama are still at the top of my list, but I'm going to listen to any school that contacts me or has an interest. But I'm headed to LSU game Saturday to watch them play against Alabama."

What's the latest on Micah Eugene's eligibility?

" "I took the ACT in October and I'm hoping my score will be high enough for a program to offer," Eugene stated. "I've been working hard to raise my GPA and report cards should be coming out soon. I'm focused on improving my grades and raising my ACT score right now."
