Cajun Softball Expected to Sign Five

The nationally ranked Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns softball program is to sign five athletes Wednesday, the first day of the NCAA's early signing period.
According to two sources, Josh Parrott of the Daily Advertiser and the Softball Showcase Recruiting website, UL's nationally ranked softball program is expected to sign five athletes during the NCAA's early signing period.
Pitcher Maggie Ham -
Ham is a highly recruited right-hander out of George West High, Texas. She is a rise ball pitcher that has been clocked between 63-68 miles per hour. As a junior she was named the Class 2A Player of the Year in Texas and the All-South Texas MVP by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times after going 34-1 with a 0.26 ERA and 498 strikeouts in 214 innings. She pitched 19 shutouts and 12 no-hitters along the way to the Class 2A state championship.

Pitcher Jordan Wallace-
Wallace is a right-hander out of Weatherford High, Texas. She was named the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Player of teh Year as a junior after going 16-8 with a 0.72 ERA and 331 strikeouts in 171 innings. In 24 games, the junior threw seven shutouts and seven no-hitters. Her pitching repertoire consist of a rise ball, curve ball and screw ball,with an average velocity in the lower 60's.

Infielder Meagin Thomas-
Thomas is a out of Class 5A playoff power New Iberia Senior High. She hits .398 with six doubles and two triples for NISH last season. Meagin was honorable mention all-state in Class 5A and is considered a pontential top of the order lead-off hitter with good speed.

Infielder Peyton Webb-
Webb is considered a power corner bat, hitting .330, slugging 11 home runs with 24 RBIs as a junior. She was named to the TXSWA 4A All State team and was also named to the Conroe Courier's All-Montgomery County Offensive MVP.

Infielder Samantha Walsh-
Walsh is considered a middle of the order bat that hit .386 with nine doubles, three homers and 25 RBIs as a junior despite a fractured finger. She was first-team All-District 31-3A and second-team All-South Texas by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
