Price Talks Recruiting and Cajuns

Madison HS (MS) running back Joe Price de-committed from Mississippi State and plans to open up his recruitment to other schools, including Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns.

Madison HS (MS) star recruit Joe Price has now opened up his recruitment to other programs after announcing his de-commitment from Mississippi State on Saturday, January 8th. Price is still scheduled to visit Mississippi State Friday and his now considering Ole Miss, Memphis and Louisiana. He was emotional in his comments concerning some of the statements made about him after his decision to de-commit to Mississippi State.

"I read some of the things people were saying about me," Price stated. "I feel like some people close to the Mississippi State program disrespected me and said some things that were not true. I have a visit still scheduled for Friday, but right now I just don't know how I feel about it."

Joe was pretty adamant in addressing some of the comments made about his decision after teammate Tobias Singleton committed to Ole Miss.

"I felt like there were some people that are involved in covering recruiting that made some statements that were not accurate," said Joe. Those people never talked to me about my decision, I didn't receive a phone call and I didn't call them. How would do they know why or what was involved in my decision? Now all of sudden, I'm not good enough to play at Mississippi State?"

Price is rated as a two-star running back by Scout.com and a three-star running back by Rivals.com. He was an All-Metro selection by the Clarion-Ledger and rushed for 1,094 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Has he talked to Louisiana yet concerning a visit?

"I've talked to recruiting coordinator Coach Stringer about going down there this month, but we've set no date yet," Price stated. "I'm definitely interested in going down there and set what they have to offer as a program, and talk to Coach Hudspeth about his plans. I don't know much about the program, but he has put together a good staff done there and I definitely have some interest in them."

What about Ole Miss and Memphis?

"I'm going to visit Ole Miss, just don't know the date yet," Joe said. "I'm going to look at the dates and once I talk to them and Memphis, I will have a better idea of how the dates will work out. We will see what happens this week and then look at the rest of the month."
