Now that the 2011 National Signing Day is over, the Cajun Redzone takes an up and personal look at Cajun signees. This week's "Meet The Cajuns" blog is with Starkville HS,(MS) DE Chris Prater.

In todays edition of Meet the Cajuns, we catch up with Starkville, MS HS DE Chris Prater. The 6ft 5 230LB Prater is true sleeper for the Cajuns and plans on making an impact early and often.

Whats the thing you are gonna miss most about being a Starkville Yellow Jacket?

"Playing with my friends. Its really cool to watch the younger players develop and step up as the year goes along. Thats the main thing I will miss, the friendships."

Who is the best player you have ever played with and against?

"With is my team mate Jarrod Atterbury. He was such a good player. Against, its gotta be (Miss State signee) PJ Jones from Tupelo. He was the best DL in 6A football."

What is your favorite sport other than football?

"Really its all about football. I tried playing basketball in middle school, but that didnt work out too good. So its all about football to me."

Whats you favorite pro team and player?

"The Eagles. I love those green uniforms. But honestly, I love college football and just started watching pro football this year."

Have you decided what you are gonna major in at UL?

"Yes sir, Electrical Engineering."

What do you do for fun when you are not playing football?

"Just hanging with my friends. We like to go bowling and skating."

Whats your favorite food from your moms kitchen?

"I like everything my mom fixes. I guess my favorite is salsbury steak and mashed potatoes."

Whats you must have on your IPOD?

" I really like the band Paramore."

Whats your favorite position?

"DE. Last year was the first year I played it but it was awesome."

What was you favorite thing about your UL visit?

"Just the atmosphere in the town. I love nature an they have tree's everywhere just like Starkville. The town really reminds me of Starkville."

If you had one message for the Cajun Nation, what would it be?

"I am not coming to lose. I wanna be a part of turning a program around and winning." Recommended Stories
