Meet the Cajuns----Effrem Reed

Now that the 2011 National Signing Day is over, the Cajun Redzone takes an up and personal look at Cajun signees. This week's "Meet The Cajuns" blog is with Dutchtown HS,(LA) RB Effrem Reed.

In today's edition of Meet the Cajuns, we go behind the scenes with Dutchtown RB Effrem Reed. Talking to him was a great experience. He is a focused and down to Earth young man that I am glad I had the chance to talk to.

What's the one thing you are going to miss about playing for Dutchtown HS?

"Friday nights. Everybody always say Friday nights are amazing and that's the truth. I am going to miss my town and my teammates. We have been playing together since we were about 6 years old. I am really going to miss my team."

Do you have a favorite pro team?

"Yeah, I like the Pittsburgh Steelers."

Do you have a player you model your game after?

"Yes sir, I really liked to watch Emmitt Smith when I was growing up. He wasn't the biggest player either, but he got the job done. That's the way I am. It's all about heart with Emmitt, and its all about heart with me."

Do you have a favorite artist or song right now?

"I am listening to Drake a lot right now."

What is your favorite food?

"Chitterlings, I just love Cajun Food."

Have you decided what you are going to Major in yet?

"Yes sir, I am majoring in Kinesiology."

What was your favorite thing about your visit to UL?

"Coach Hud. I had heard so many good things about him. Then when I got down there everyone was on the same page. The guys on the team told me that they have not worked that hard since they have been there. I want to be a part of that."

If you had one message for the Cajun Nation, what would it be?

"I am coming down there to work hard. I am going to work hard everyday on and off the field to make you proud. I am going to work hard to get us to a bowl game and maybe even further than that. I am going to do everything I can to get better everyday." Recommended Stories
