Dobbs Looking for UL Invitation

Marquis Dobbs of Jordan HS in Morris, AL. is attracting attention from a number of schools, including several SEC programs, but one program he is waiting to here from is Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns.

When Mark Hudspeth was named the Head Coach at Louisiana, not only did it have an impact in Louisiana, it had an impact in his old stomping grounds in Mississippi and Alabama. Kids that might not have thought of Louisiana as a college destination took notice and started looking that way. One such player is Marquis Dobbs of Jordan HS in Morris, AL. The 5ft 9 187lb RB/Slot WR became interested as soon as he heard the news.

One of the things that interests Hobbs is Coach Huds fast paced Offense.

"I just love the pace of his Offense. I love to get out in the open field one on one and make the guy miss. I run a lot of jet sweeps and bubble screens and outs and that fits in well in Coach Huds offense."

On the recruiting trail, several schools have taken notice of the versatile Hobbs as well.

"I am hearing from Mississippi State, Auburn, MTSU, and Arkansas State. I have also heard from Alabama A&M, Samford, Birmingham Southern, Holy Cross, and Wofford. I want to go to a big school, but not too big. Miss. State and UL kind of fit that mode for me."

Concerning UL, Marquis is very interested in seeing what the Cajuns have to offer.

"I hope Coach Hud or Coach Stringer call me. I really want to come down and see the school and show them what I have to offer. I am very athletic and I think I can come down there and help and make an impact on the team early."

Dobbs is also looking forward to his senior year to help impress college coaches.

"We are going to surprise a lot of people this year. My O-Line has gotten bigger and stronger and it's going to make the whole team better. I can't wait for the season to start so we can show everyone how good we are going to be." Recommended Stories
