One of the most important areas involving recruiting is building relationships with High School coaches and programs. Coach Hudspeth and Coach Stringer had already established good relationships in Mississippi and that proved to be very important with Starkville, HS DE
Chris Prater
. The 6ft 5 245lb Prater talked to the Cajun Redzone about what he has been doing since signing day.
Like all the future Cajuns, Chris has been following the Cajuns workout plan for them.
"I have been training hard. It’s a very tough workout, but I have been pushing through it and getting it done. I am working out with some of the other football signee's from my school. I am just doing everything I can to prepare for June."
As far as the classroom, Chris is ready to go.
"I have taken all my classes and will be a full qualifier. I really want to major in electrical engineering. I just wish I knew more about it so I don’t get into it and go Oh No. But that’s what I have been thinking about it."
Prater has been keeping in touch with the Cajuns and cant wait until June 6th.
"I talk to Coach Stringer at least once a week. He also messages me a lot too. He told me I need to come in ready to go for next year. June 6th worked out great for me because I have been invited to come down to Southern Miss and be a counselor for a youth camp down there. I really wanted to be able to do that. But I am really looking forward to getting down there and meeting all my new teammates and hanging out with them."
His Senior Season, Prater made the All Region team as an Offensive Tackle.
