Some players have to take the JUCO route in order to make it to the Division 1 level. There are various reasons that this might be the case but most kids come out of it better people. One player that was helped a lot by his JUCO days is Mississippi Delta Community College DB
Jemarious Moten
. The 5ft 11 175lb Moten was one of the best players on the Trojans roster his two years at Delta. Moten talks to the Cajun Redzone on becoming a Ragin' Cajun.
Having played College Football the past two years, working out is something Moten has gotten used to. He is also working on the field.
"Of course I have been in the weight room getting stronger and faster. Another thing I have been doing is working out on the field, getting better with my technique and at playing the ball. It’s helping me a lot."
Jemarious has a big day coming up this weekend.
"I graduate from Delta on May 13th. I am going to go home for a few weeks and then report to Lafayette on June 5th. I have been talking to Coach Stringer asking him what all that I need to do to get ready to play when I get there. I can’t wait to get down there and meet my teammates."
Moten has a message for all of the Cajun Nation.
"I want you all to know that I bring it on every single play. I love to go out there and just make plays. If I had to describe my game in one word it would be dominate. I like to go out and dominate every single receiver I go up against."
This past season, Moten was named to the All-MACJC North Division second team defense after finishing his sophomore season with 37 tackles, 12 pass breakups and three interceptions.
