Breaux Bridge High (La) OLB Tyren Alexander finished the 2010 season with 68 tackles, 6 sacks and 6 tackles for loss. The "6-0", 192-pound athlete decided UL was his best option to play college football after Sunday's Ragin'Cajuns Elite Camp.
"I came in just to hang out with the coaches and watch a couple of my teammates (Adrain Menard and Brandon Chevalier) work out," Alexander stated. "I came down for Junior Day and the last UL camp, and worked out for the coahes. They were happy with my workout and when they offered me, I knew this is where I wanted to play college football."
Alexander recently camped at
LSU
and ran a 4.6 forty for the Tiger staff, but they made no offer to the Breaux Bridge defender.
"It was great going to LSU with some of the guys and workout out with them," Tyren said. "But I knew UL wanted me in their program and Trevence Patt is my boy; I had interest from UL-Monroe and Southeatern, but I felt blessed to have committed to UL."
Once
Tyren Alexander
committed, he was pleased with the reaction from the Cajun staff.
"Once I committed, Coach Hudspeth told me that they were very happy that I joined the Ragin'Cajun family," Alexander stated. "Coach Stewart said he was happy I made the decision to become a Ragin'Cajun and he looked forward to getting me on the field in his defense. I'm really happy that I've made my decision now and I can focus on my senior season. We have a really good team with
Lamar Louis
,Travian Dural,Shaun Williams,
Adrian Menard
and others. I like our chances in that district and we have a really good chance to win it all."
Tyren Alexander has a 2.8 gpa in his core, but has some work to do on the ACT test.
