UL Best Fit for Dominic Jones

UL Best Fit for Dominic Jones

St. Augustine High (La) Cornerback Dominic Jones felt most comfortable on campus at UL. The "5-11", 187-pound senior became the Ragin'Cajuns third commitment since Sunday's Elite Camp.

Dominic Jones's second camp at UL was enough to convince the lanky defensive back that UL was the right program for him to play college football. The "5-11", 187-pound senior held offers from Louisiana, Arkansas State and Memphis, with interest from Houston and ULM. What made the Ragin'Cajuns stand out in his final decision?

"Some of my teammate are in the program and the coaching staff," Jones said. "Sean Thomas signed with them this year and Zach Degrange and Corey Domio are walking on next Month. And I really like the coaching staff and how they have change things in the program."

The current facilities and future improvements also excited Dominic Jones.

"They have very good facilties, but we watched a presentation on the new weight room, stadium suites and locker rooms," Dominic stated. "That was very exciting to see what is coming for the program and to be part of that future."

What did the coaches tell him after told them of his decision to commit?

"Coach Hudspeth was really excited, he said I was the number one cornerback on their board," said Jones. "Coach Saunders told me he was really impressed with my workouts at both camps and Coach Rebowe was excited because he has been recruiting me. I really like the staff there, it just the right fit for me right now."

Jones is also an excellent student, and wants to be an Engineer major.

"They have a really good Engineer program at UL and that also helped me make my decision," Jones stated. "I looked at all the schools that were recruiting me and UL had the best Engineer Program out of all of them. I finished the academic year with a 3.75 and scored a 20 on my first ACT test. That is where my focus is going to be now that I've committted to UL."
