Dobbs Names Leader

Marquis Dobbs knows what it feels like to be overlooked. The 5ft 10 175lb WR/RB from Jordan(AL)HS plays in a district and a part ofthe state that produces bigtime athletes every year. The problem is, Marquis took it personal this year. After a very big Jr season, Dobbs is back to prove the doubters wrong and prove that he is one of the best players in the Metro Birmingham area.

The problem is, Marquis took it personal this year. After a very big Jr season, Dobbs is back to prove the doubters wrong and prove that he is without a doubt he is one of the best players in the Metro Birmingham area.

Friday night marks Kickoff for Alabama High School football. Dobbs and his teammates face a very good team to start the season.

"We start of the season Friday night against Pinson Valley. They have a bigtime playmaker in Earnest Robinson. We have a plan to shut him down, and that plan is to play me both ways. The local media has picked us to be very bad this year. I wasnt named to the All Metro team, Heck I wasnt even on the players to watch list after what I did last year. That hurts, but I am going to prove all those "experts" wrong this year."

Several schools have been recruiting Dobbs and he told us which schools are on him the hardest.

"Right now the schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Louisiana, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, UAB, and Samford. I plan on making a decision soon when I get the right offer. You never know but I am looking for a certain offer right now."

Dobbs was able to attend the UL Elite Camp earlier this summer and came away with a very good impression.

"Man I was blown away. I had a very good time. The indoor facility was great, so was the weight room. Coach Hud told me he for sure wants to see me playing there one day. I called him after the camp and he said they are going to come watch me play in a game this fall. They are for sure my number 1 school right now."
