Saturday, August 27th was a very, very good day for C.J. Bates. The 6ft 1 195lb Athlete from Louisville, MS help lead his team to a big win over Demopolis, AL HS in the Mississippi/Alabama showdown. After a big win, Bates decided it was time to let Coach Mark Hudspeth know it was time for him to become a Cajun. The Cajun Redzone catches up with the newest Cajun.

Bates was very happy to tell us why he wanted to become a Cajun.

"I just love the way that Coach Hud runs the program. He is a Louisville boy just like me and we have a bond. He is a great coach, but more importantly he is a great guy. They have alot of Mississippi boys down there and if you get a bunch of us together in one spot we can do special things. Its gonna be a blast playing down there."

One of the things Cajun fans wanted to know, what kind of player is C.J. Bates?

"Well i am the kind of player that will do anything I can to help my team win. I dont care what side of the ball I play on. If I need to make a catch, I can do that. If you need me to make a tackle, I can do that. I can run fast, Jump high, and catch anything. I am just very glad and very humbled to have a chance to play college football."

Bates wanted to pass along a message to the Cajun Nation.

"I am very happy to be a Ragin Cajun. I am going to play very hard for you guys and make all of you fans really quick. Thank you so much for making me a part of your family."
