Dutchtown TE Alex Osborne watched his older brother Sean play for Louisiana’s Ragin’Cajuns over the past three seasons and has watched a number of games at Cajun Field. The Cajun Redzone spoke with the “6-3”, 215-pound senior athlete earlier today.
Dutchtown TE Alec Osborne needs no introduction to Louisiana’s football program. He has attended a number of Cajun football games over the past three seasons to watch older brother
Sean Osborne
play at UL. But the previous staff has moved on and Alex is now trying to impress the new staff, hoping to pick up an offer from Coach Hudspeth.
“I attended UL’s camps, so they know what I can do against some of the talent they hosted at the Prospect Camp,” Alec stated. “I’m going to send them some video of my first few games of the season and see if they will offer me after that. I plan on coming in to watch the first home game against Nichols State.”
Osborne has attracted interest from other programs like
ULM
,
Tulane
, Southeastern and Pitt despite being a first year starter for the Dutchtown Griffins. Who is he still hearing from right now?
“I’ve heard from ULM and Southeastern this week,” said Osborne. “Both want me to come in for a home game soon, but I have an ACT test scheduled next Saturday and I plan to come watch UL on the September 17th. I haven’t heard from Pitt lately so I don’t know if they want me to come up for a home game.”
Dutchtown cruised by Lutcher 32-8 Friday night, but the Griffins didn’t throw the ball much because of the tropical weather.
“We really couldn’t throw the ball much in the driving rain,” Alec stated. “I caught on pass on a bash route, but the water was up to our ankles on the field when we came out after halftime. I did a lot of blocking for the running game, so I hope to catch a few more passes in games so that I have it on my video.”
Alec Osborne
improved his status as a prospect this summer attending a number of football camps and the NUC (National Underclassmen Combine) Combines, including the Ultimate 100 in Dallas, Texas.
