Ruston HS Offensive Lineman Joseph Brunson committed to Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns a while back. Since that time he has stood firm in his commitment despite the fact that some fellow teammates decided to go elsewhere. With the playoffs on the horizon, Brunson has worked hard to prepare himself for the next level. There might even be a new position for Brunson in Lafayette.

committed to Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns a while back. Since that time he has stood firm in his commitment despite the fact that some fellow teammates decided to go elsewhere. With the playoffs on the horizon, Brunson has worked hard to prepare himself for the next level. There might even be a new position for Brunson in Lafayette.
This week could be a big week for Brunson and his Ruston teammates.
"We are 5-4 right now. Our win last Friday locked up a playoff spot. If we win this Friday, it could mean a home game in the playoffs. Thats our goal to host a playoff game."
Brunson went into this season with some clear goals this season. He wanted to make sure he showed he could dominate.
"This year I have been working on finishing plays. I want to take the player to the ground every time the ball is snapped. I have gotten alot faster off of the ball. One of the things I have done is I am faster getting to the next level. I am becoming a more complete player."
After Brunson made the call for the Cajuns, Brunson had to watch a couple of teammates commit elsewhere. There was speculation that Brunson might make the switch, but Brunson said that never crossed his mind.
"I am 100% committed to UL. I am not gonna change or even think about changing. I know thats where I need to be. I just love the intensity there. I am amazed that its Coach Hudspeth's first year. The atmosphere, the team, the fans, they just make you feel like family there. Coach Hud said I would be playing inside. He said there may be a spot at center so I would love that. I will play center or guard. Whatever gets me on the field first. But I would love to make the move to center. I am going to try to make it to the game Saturday. I really want to be there."
