Este Looking to Impress

McDonogh #35 DB Joe Este has been working the summer camp circuit trying to make an impression on college football staff’s. The (5’10,170) Este visited Lafayette Monday afternoon for a session with the Ragin’ Cajuns football staff. How did his workout at UL go?

“I thought I performed well,” Este noted. “I ran a 4.39 in the forty and did pretty well in the drills. Coach Rebowe said that they are going to stay on me during the fall and they would get back with me. I really like the indoor facility and they talked about the new locker rooms that are going to be built, they have a nice program.”

With his busy summer schedule, Joe Este couldn’t make it to UL’s senior camp Saturday because he was scheduled to take the ACT for the first time.

“I couldn’t make the camp Saturday because I had the ACT test that morning,” Joe stated. “I had the choice of going to ULM’s camp at St. Amant Monday or come in to UL, and that was my decision. I wanted to come in and check their program out and I had spoken to Coach Rebowe about coming to one of their camps this summer.”

Este hits the road again this week heading to Georgia Saturday for one of the “Dwags” camps.

“We are headed to Georgia’s camp Saturday and then on to South Carolina,” said Este. “Counting those two camps, that will make football camps at ULL, Louisiana Tech, Southern Mississippi, North Texas, ULM and Tulane this summer. I just wanted to get out to some camps and show the coaches what I can do against the competition at those camps.”
