Gross Talks Camps and Offers

Evangel Christian Academy DE Jammerio Gross hit several college football camps in June, picking up his latest offer. The (6'2, 220) senior now holds two offers thus far and plans on attending several more camps in July hoping to impress college football staffs.

DE Jammerio Gross hit several college football camps in June hoping to impress the staffs enough to garner offers. Gross tripped down to UL in Lafayette with teammate X'Zavier Preston and worked out for the Ragin' Cajun's staff. How did he do at UL's camp?

"I thought I did okay at the camp," Gross stated. "Coach Edwards (UL DL coach) said that he will keep an eye on me during the season and they wanted to see some of my senior video in the fall. Coach Hudspeth showed me and X'Zavier around the facilities and talked about the new weight room, locker rooms and the stadium expansion coming down the road. Overall I thought I performed well in the camp."

Gross worked through a number of drills during the camp including one-on-one's against offensive linemen.

"First we stretched out and then we went through position drills," Jammerio mentioned. "We outside to the stadium and ran the forty; I ran a 4.9 for my best time. We went back to the practice fields and did some one-on-one drills against the offensive linemen. I held my own on most reps, but there was one guy that was really tough, he played guard and I don't remember his name right now."

Jammerio Gross also traveled down to San Marcos, Texas to participate in the Texas State football camp. How did he do in front of the Bobcats staff?

"They said I did really good in the camp and offered me afterwards," Gross stated. "I thought I had a really good camp there and showed them what I could do at the defensive end position against the competition. I like the staff and the facilities at Texas State, and I felt really good about my performance."

Gross is set to attend several more camps in July after picking up offers from McNeese State and Texas State.

"I'm going to Louisiana Tech and McNeese State's camps this month," said Jammerio. "They both ask for me to come down to their camps and workout for them. After those two camps, I will probably focus on my offseason workouts to get ready for football season. I've been able to add some weight since the last football camp and I want to try and keep building myself up for the start of practice in August."
