Holy Cross HS (La) CB Ki-Jana Curtis has hit several camps this summer and is currently hold three offers. One camp the (6’0, 170) athlete is looking forward to is Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns July 22nd camp this weekend. The Cajun Redzone caught up with Curtis last night and talked about his goals for the weekend.
Ki-Jana Curtis has become one of the top sleepers in Louisiana’s 2012 prep class this summer. Curtis only attended one junior day at
LSU
, so his name wasn’t popping up on the radar for a number of programs that recruit the New Orleans area. But after hitting four camps this summer, the senior athlete is now holding three offers.
“I didn’t attend any other junior days other then LSU’s,” Curtis stated. “So I haven’t been down to ULL yet this year, but I’m going to their camp this weekend. Coach Rebowe invited up to one of their camps earlier this summer, but I wasn’t able to make it. They’ve been keeping up with me on Face book and Coach Hudspeth really wants me to come down to the camp and show them what I can do.”
With offers from Southern Mississippi,
North Texas
and Southeastern on the table does Ki-Jana think the Cajuns could be next?
“I hope so, they told me if I do well that they would offer me,” said Ki-Jana. “They are a program that is moving in the right direction under Coach Hudspeth and I’m certainly open to what they have to offer. I watched the New Orleans Bowl game and I really like the style of football they are playing down there at ULL.”
How did Curtis feel about his performances at the
Mississippi State
, North Texas and Southern Mississippi camps?
“I thought I did pretty well at the camps this summer,” Curtis mentioned. “I went up against some really good athletes at those camps and held my own against anyone they put out there. I ran a 4.55 in my forty, but I think I can run a better time than that this weekend. I’m looking forward to showing them what I can do this weekend.”
Curtis reported that he has a 3.1 gpa in the classroom and scored a 20 on his most recent ACT test.
