Clarksville High (Tx) Defensive End Stephen McPeters (6'6,205) hasn't received much attention from football recruiters this summer, but Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns have him high on their list. The Cajun Redzone spoke with McPeters Wednesday night about his offer from UL and his other options.
Clarksville High defensive end
Stephen McPeters
hasn’t received a lot of attention after earning Class 1A All-State honors in 2011. The (6’6,205) senior had over 86 tackles last season for the 10-2 Tigers but the offers have not come this summer until recently from UL Head Coach
Mark Hudspeth
. McPeters talked about his recent offer from the Cajuns.
“I have interest from Texas State,
North Texas
,
TCU
and ULL,” Stephen stated. But ULL was the only one to offer me this summer after camps. I have been talking to Coach Edwards and Coach Hudspeth, and they decided to offer me so it was great to get that first one.”
“I don’t know much about the program, but I know they won a bowl game last season and they are not that far from home,” mentioned McPeters. Coach Hudspeth and Coach Edwards told me that I’m at the top of the board and they want to come down and visit them this season. I definitely plan on visiting them this fall.”
Stephen McPeters attended only two camps this summer, Texas State and TCU. He talked about his camp performances and where he stands with both programs.
“I only attended two football camps this summer at Texas State and TCU,” Stephen said. “I did pretty well at both camps; my best forty times was a 4.76 and both schools told me they would watch me this fall. But I haven’t heard much from either school at this time, along with
Texas Tech
.”
Stephen wants to major in Physical Therapy and hasn’t really decided if he will attend college out of state.
“I’m going to consider any program that offers me right now,” McPeters stated. “I would like to stay close to home and play in state, but I’m not going to rule out playing out of state until I have a chance to look at the program. I’m not making that decision right now and I hope several other programs will offer me before then.”
