Carter Still Has UL on List

No. 1 ranked 5A Rummel Raiders defeated a tough Denham Springs Yellow Jacket team 14-3 Friday night. TE Cethan Carter (6'4, 235) made several big plays for the Raiders on offense, scoring on a 65-yard pass from QB Damian Williams to close out the win. The Cajun Redzone spoke to Carter about his season and the latest on recruiting Sunday.

Rummel TE Cethan Carter continues to make big plays for the Raiders offense this season. Carter's big 65 yard touchdown reception Friday night helped Rummel defeat a very tough Denham Springs team on the road. The big senior seen his stock rise during the summer as a college football prospect and four programs continue to work hard for his services including UL's Ragin' Cajuns. What programs are still recruiting Carter this fall?

"I hear from ULL, Southern Miss, Nebraska and Kansas State often," Carter stated. "Coach Rebowe came by high school a few weeks back and they want me to come down to Lafayette to catch a home game against FIU this month. Southern Miss sent me a package for their home game against Louisville next month, but I don't know if I can make it up to Kansas State or Nebraska this fall."

Carter played on both side of the football during spring but he has been a huge offensive weapon for the Raiders this fall.

"I'm playing only on offense this fall, but in the spring I did play defensive-end," Centhan mentioned. "All of the schools are recruiting me at Tight-End or H-Back, none of them have talked to me about playing defense. I can play either position in different offenses; it doesn't matter to me as long as I get the chance to play."

Carter is awaiting the scores of his last ACT test taken earlier in the month. He knows that his previous scores could limit his options come signing day.

"I'm waiting on my test scores of my last ACT to come in," said Carter. "I made a 16 on my last test and I'm hoping to raise that score to an 18 on this ACT. My core GPA is a 2.2 right now, but I'm working hard on raising it up to a 2.5 GPA. If my scores are better on my ACT and I bring my GPA up, that will take some of the pressure off me as far as my eligibility."
