Leglue Gets Early Interest from Cajuns

Holy Savior Menard HS OL John Leglue (6'6, 280) is another hidden gem in the 2013 Louisiana prep ranks. The big lineman is received early interest from a hand full of college programs including Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. What did Leglue have to say about the Ragin' Cajuns?

Big John Leglue has the body and frame that college football programs covet at the tackle position. Leglue hasn't received much attention playing at 2A Holy Savior Menard, but UL, Missouri, Nebraska and Southeastern Louisiana currently have him on their list of Louisiana prospects. The big junior traveled down to Lafayette to visit the Ragin' Cajuns have missing their Junior Day event on March 23rd, what did he think of his visit to the practice fields of UL?

"I missed their junior day because I had a baseball game that day," John stated. "I went down there and visited them at a practice and watched them go through the different sessions. I talked to the offensive line coach Rodrigue and a few minutes, but he was busy coaching practice and didn't have much time to talk to me at that point. He did say we wanted me to come in to one of their camps in June and looked forward to seeing me workout for them. The assistant recruiter took me around practice and I finally had the opportunity to talk to Coach Hudspeth for a few minutes as well and he asked me to come to one of the camps in June as well."

John Leglue has made 3-2A All-District his sophomore and junior years as well as the All-CENLA Team. Interest has been slow to come from college football recruiters, but John did say he had some interest from other programs besides Louisiana.

"Missouri has sent me a number of letters and I've received several from Nebraska too," Leglue mentioned. "Southeastern had come by school and talked to coach about me as well. Those are the programs that have shown me the most interest right now besides UL this spring."

While John Leglue and his coach expect interest from college coaches to increase next month during the spring evaluation period, he has decided upon a few summer football camps that he will attend.

"Right now I'm going to camps at UL, LSU, Louisiana Tech, Southeastern, Nebraska and Missouri if I can get up there this summer," said John. I want to show the coaches that I can compete against some of the top athletes they bring into their camps this summer and earn a few offers before I make a decision later."

John Leglue reported a 3.6 GPA and that he has interest in majoring in Business or Kinesiology in college.
