Goodacre Set to Visit Louisiana

Texas 3A All-State Carthage HS OL Adrian Goodacre (6'4,300) won a state championship this past season after committing to Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. The big Texas prep lineman is set to take his official visit to Lafayette later this month. Go inside the Cajun Redzone for the rest of the story!

Big Adrian Goodacre is a member of a solid group of high school offensive linemen that are committed to Louisiana's 2014 Class. Goodacre will be traveling down to Lafayette for his third look after attending the Ragin' Cajun's junior day event last March and the home game against Nichols State. This time, he will get a closer look at the city of Lafayette and college campus.

"Yes, I'm really looking forward to talking to my professors in my major and looking around Lafayette," Adrian stated. There is not much to do here in Carthage, so I'm going to look around the city and see what kinds of things it has to do or that interest me. I'm also looking forward to speaking with some of the professors in Communication. I'm interested in sports broadcasting and communications as my major. I did an internship at a local radio station here in Carthage last year."

Like many of the Cajuns 2014 commitments, Goodacre tried to keep up with the team during the team when possible. Playing on a team that won a state championship in Texas 3A Football kept him busy during the season.

"I watched a few games and the replay of the bowl game," Goodacre stated."We were in the middle of a playoff run on the way to a state championship. The bowl win was impressive, with the large number of Cajun fans that attended the game. It was exciting to watch them win the game at the end that way and celebrate on the field."

What's next for Adrian Goodacre after visiting Louisiana later this month?

"After we come in and visit on January 31st, the next step is National Signing Day," Adrian mentioned. "We will have six athletes sign division one scholarships that morning and we will have a ceremony at school. After signing my focus will be finishing the year strong in the classroom and start working out. I'm going to move down in June and enroll in the summer to begin workouts. I'm really excited about moving to Lafayette and experiencing something different other than Carthage, Tx." Recommended Stories
