One of the top remaining unsigned high school pitchers in Texas made his decision on his college destination known last night. Hughes Spring's right handed pitcher Dylan Moore (6'4,220) announced his commitment to the No. 3 Ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball program via twitter Monday night.
Coach Robichaux and his staff are expected to lose a number of current players to the Major League Draft and graduation after the 2014 season, including all three members of the current weekend rotation Austin Robichaux, Carson Baranik and Cody Boutte. With the expectation of many leaving the Cajun program after the season, Moore will have the opportunity to pitch early in his career at Louisiana.
Moore is a four-year starter for Hughes Springs and heading into the Texas State playoffs later this week he currently holds a career record of 42-2 and 11-0 this season. Over the past two seasons, Moore has gone undefeated with a 28-0 record.
Moore was a first –team THSBCA all-state selection last year after helping the Mustangs reach the Class 2A state championship game. Moore was 17-0 with a 0.98 ERA, while striking out 118 and walked 33 in 87 innings. He was also named to the first-teams of the ETSN.fm Baseball Super Team and District 16-2A Pitcher of the Year.
Moore joins Pearl River CC RHP Colton Lee as recent commitments to Ragin' Cajuns Baseball program. Lee also announced his commitment via Twitter on the 25th. Lee's current season stats (1.64 ERA, 1-1 record, 2 saves, 14 appearances, 22 IP, 10 BBs, 19 Ks this season).
Lee is a 5-10, 165-pound sophomore from Carriere, Miss. He played is a Pearl River Central HS grad and was named to the Coast East/West all-star team as a junior and senior. Last season he played at Southwest Mississippi CC (8.53 ERA, 12 appearances, 1-1 record, 12.2 IP, 5 BBs, 17 Ks).
