Coming off an outstanding junior season rushing for over 2,300 yards and 27 touchdowns, Pace (Fla.) High School running back Quaide Weimerskirch had five scholarship offers on the table counting the Ragin’ Cajuns this summer. Quaide made his final decision after visiting the Ragin’ Cajuns campus this past weekend.
“We visited with academics for the first few hours we were on campus and then we headed over to the coaches office,” Weimerskirch said. “We visited with the coaches, walked around the facilities and watch some video. All the programs that have offered are good programs, but I made the best decision for myself. Their program (UL) has won three consecutive bowl games and is on the rise with the new facilities. I just feel comfortable with the staff and the direction of the program.”
Academics will not be a concern for the big running back in gaining entrance to Louisiana.
“I scored a 22 on my ACT and maintain a 3.9 GPA in my core subjects,” Quaide stated. “I haven’t really decided upon a major at this time, but I have time to think about it. Coach Hudspeth is serious about academics and that is important to me and my family.”
Quaide Weimerskirch’s relationship with Coach Rodrigue and the staff helped seal his commitment to the Ragin’ Cajun Football program.
“My relationship with Coach Rodrigue and the staff was probably the key factor in determining that I would commit now,” Weimerskirch stated. “I came in for Junior Day in March and one of their camps in June, and my relationship with the staff just continued to get better. I plan on coming back in for a few games during the season to check out the atmosphere and the tailgating.
