Jones Has Offer at Running back

Springfield running back Zeke Jones is off to a great start for the 2007 season. Some college coaches still consider Jones a prospect at fullback, but Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns have offered him at running back.

At 6-0, 230 pounds, Zeke Jones is not your average high school running back. The big back has 4.6 speed in the forty, has shown so far this year that he can carry the load. In his first three games this season, Jones has rushed for over 552 yards, on 60 carries. Jones has also scored 7 Td's thus far this season. Zeke Jones is happy to have his first offer at running back from a college program.

"My first offer was from Oklahoma State, but it was at the fullback position. UL called and offered me at running back, so this is my first offer at my position. Coach Troy Wingerter calls me and keeps in contact with me during the week."

While the Cajuns are the only program to offer Zeke Jones at running back so far this season, they are not the only program contacting him weekly.

"Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech continue to call me every week about a possible vist soon. But neither program has told me what position they plan to offer me at yet."

While Jones has his first offer at running back on the table, he is focused on his big game Friday night against Parkview Baptist.

"This is a big game for us Friday night. Parkview is a really good team, with great size on the lines. They are larger then us in the lines, but I think we are better at the skilled positions."

Zeke Jones will have his chance Friday night to show his skills against one of the better programs in the state. Recommended Stories
