Jackson Enjoys Visit

Dutchtown WR Thomas Jackson decided to make the trip down to Lafayete and take in the game at UL with several teammates. Jackson enjoyed the visit and spoke to Louisiana Scout about his experince Saturday night.

Thomas Jackson plays in a system that features two highly touted juniors in Kelvin York and Eddie Lacy. With limited touches during his junior season, Jackson finished the season with only 8 catches for 110 yards and 2 TD's. While he remains Dutchtowns number one option at reciever, his stats are not much different this season.

"I don't get many balls thrown my way because we had two of the best backs in the state in Kelvin York, and Eddie Lacy. We really do not throw the ball much until defenses show they can stop the run."

While the 6-2, 195-pound WR doesn't have great stats, he still as drawn the attention of Cajun assistant coach Tim Rebowe.

"Coach Rebowe has been my main contact with UL and we also spoke to coach Wingerter Saturday before the game. I also attended the UL prospect camp earlier in the summer as well.

The rangy wide-reciever attended seven football camps during summer, hoping to showcase his ability.

"I have been to Ole Miss, UL, La Tech, Tulane, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Mississippi State this summer. Most of the coahces told me to work on my speed and running routes."

Earlier this summer Jackson turned in a poor 4.75 forty time at the Scout.com combine in New Orleans, but improved his time to a 4.56 at Ole Miss.

Jackson attended the FAU game that past weekend with teammates DE Sean Osborne and TE Brendan Wilson, a Cajun commitment.

"I think we all enjoyed the visit Saturday and talking to the coaches. I had an opportunity to tour the weight room and indoor practice facility after camp this summer."

Thomas Jackson is scheduled to retake the ACT this weekend. Jackson scored a 16 on his first test, while maintaining a 2.5 GPA.
