Vols Overpower Cajuns 59-7

The Volunteers' 59-7 victory against Louisiana on Saturday was their most lopsided in seven years at Neyland Stadium. The Cajuns (1-8) could not overcome penalties and turnovers to keep the game close.

Tenneessee used a season-high 273-yard running game and touchdowns on Antonio Reynolds' 70-yard interception return and a 20-yard blocked punt return by Antonio Wardlow to crush Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns.

Arian Foster and Lennon Creer both ran for touchdowns. Foster finished with 100 yards on 20 carries, propelling him just past the 2,000-yard career mark. He is the 12th Tennessee tailback to surpass that mark.

Creer finished with 109 yards on seven carries, and Montario Hardesty added 45 yards on nine runs.

Tyrell Fenroy led the Cajuns with 113 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown tied Kenyon Cotton for the most career scores by a Cajuns running back. It was Fenroy’s 14th career 100-yard game, tying Brian Mitchell for the school record.

Quarterback Michael Desormeaux added 60 yards rushing and completed 13-of-25 passes for 97 yards against a physical Volunteer defense.

The Cajuns return home to prepare for a winless FIU(0-9) in Florida next Saturday.
