Cajuns Down Louisiana College In Exhibition

A young group of Ragin’ Cajuns ran past the Wildcats 95-81 Tuesday night in an exhibition game at the CAJUNDOME. The Cajuns pressured the visiting Wildcats all night forcing 28 turnovers.

The Cajun Basketball staff was more interested in how their young team played pressure defense and worked together on the floor, then the final score of the game. David Dees and Elijah Milsap led the group of returning starters on the floor, along with Willie Lago, Abray Milson and Tyren Johnson to start the game.

Elijah Millsap led five Ragin’ Cajuns in double figures with 19 points, while freshman forward Chris Gradnigo chipped in 15 points. La’Ryan Gary added 14 points and six rebounds.

The Cajuns shot 65.5 percent from the field for the game, and shot 70.4 percent from the field in the second half, while hitting 76.2 percent of their free throws for the game.

The Cajuns applied pressure on the ball throughout the game on the Wildcats; with Brandon Dison and Elijah Milsap both finishing with a game-high six steals.

The Ragin'Cajuns mens basketball team will officially open the 2007-08 regular season when it hosts the North Alabama Lions on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m.
