Cajuns Defeat FIU 38-28

Tyrell Fenroy rushed for 150 yards as Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns defeated Florida International 38-28 Saturday in Miami,FL.

Running througha porous FIU defense, Fenroy led a Ragin'Cajun rushing attack that tallied 287 yards on the ground. FIU had 264 yards rushing, and both teams had a combined 855 yards of total offenses, 551 combined rushing.

Fenroy scored on a four-yard run in the first quarter and a one-yard run with 4:30 left in the third quarter to give Louisiana (3-8,3-3 Sun Belt) a 35-21 lead.

Wayne Younger's four-yard touchdown pass to John Ellis with 13:34 in the fourth quarter cut FIU's deficit to seven.

The Panthers were stopped in their final three drives of the game. Drew Edmiston kicked a 37-yard field goal with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter to give the Ragin' Cajuns to a 38-28 lead. Quarterback Conner Morel gave Louisiana the lead for good when he threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Deon Wallace with 1:22 remaining before halftime. That capped off an 11-play, 95-yards drive and gave the Ragin'Cajuns a 28-21 lead.

Morel completed 12-of-15 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown; Wallace rushed for 88 yards on 11 carries and one touchdown; Michael Desormeaux rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown before leaving the game injured.
