Cajuns Pick Up Commitment From Texas Athlete

The Cajun Football staff entertained 12 recruits this weekend, but one prospect went unmentioned.

The Ragin'Cajun Football staff landed its thirteenth commitment Friday from Dallas Pinkston High CB/Athlete Nathan Sowels. The 5-11,170-pounds Sowels is A member of the Dallas Morning News Top 100 area prospects.

Sowels said he picked Louisiana over Arizona, Iowa State and TCU. He will play cornerback and also run track.

The Texas athlete is a member of the 2007 14-4A All-District Football Team; Sowels rushed for 48 yards and 1 TD, and had 224 yards receiving, with 2 TD’s. On defense, Sowels finished the season with six interceptions.

Nathan Sowel was also a member of the 4A All-State Track team,winning the 2007 Texas State Championship in the 400 meters with a 38.95 time.
