Gillis Gives Verbal To Ragin Cajuns

The Cajuns add another highly sought after defensive back in Rodney Gillis of St. Thomas Aquinas, Florida to the 2008 class.

Rodney Gillis is a defensive back from St Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Ragin Cajuns have been recruiting Gillis for quite some time, along with Toledo, Central Michigan, Iowa and Iowa State.

The 5-10,175-pound Gillis wa s named to the All-State and All-Broward County Football Teams. Rodney also Participated in the Florida All-American Bowl in which he had an interception to help lead the East team to a 12-8 victory over the West.

Gillis completed the regular season with 52 tackles, 5 Int's and 14 passes broken up. Rodney Gillis's junior stats were 32 tackles, 2 Int's and 10 passes broken up.

Gillis joins the list of very talented group of corner backs already committed to the Cajuns in Tim Jackson, Dwight Bentley and Nathan Sowels.
