The Ragin'Cajun Baseball team used the arm of Hunter Moody Sunday to help snap a five-game losing streak. The senior southpaw struck out a season-high 10 batters in seven innings. | |||

Moody (2-0) scattered four hits, while walking one batter on 120 pitchers in seven innings of solid work. Matt Broussard was part of another combined shutout for the Cajuns, tossing one inning of no-hit middle relief. Sophomore Justin Robichaux came on in the ninth, effectively closing the door on the Golden Eagles (6-2) for his second save. Moody’s 10 strikeouts were the most since he struck out a career-high 12 against Minnesota on March 17, 2006. With the win, Louisiana (3-5) snapped its five-game losing streak, while earning its first victory at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field this season. Five different Cajuns recorded a hit, including Justin Robichaux and Matt Hicks who each drove in a run for Louisiana. William Long scored the insurance run for the Cajuns in the eight inning after hitting a single and advancing to second on a Matt Goulas sacrifice bunt. Two batters later,Long scored the Cajuns' insurance run on Matt Hicks' infield RBI single. |
