| Offense is Working Hard This Spring | ||||
![]() |
Injuries have depleted the depth in the Cajun offensive line and the staff has had to adjust preparation for this Saturday's spring game. | |||

The offense is practicing passing the ball much more this Spring and that’s the scenario the coaches would like to see in the fall. They are passing more under the center instead of the usual shot gun snaps. All though the offense will be similar, getting that ball in the air is a key goal. Unfortunately there have been some injuries in key positions. (79) Chris Fisher broke his hand early on in the spring and recently (75) Brad Bustle and (55) Brad Bryant were both injured last week. Both their injuries are still under evaluation but more then like they will not participate on Saturday during the spring game. Ian Burks and Nasser Jamal could possibly be out Saturday as well. Coach Hudson said that because of the injuries many of the young guys have had to step in and step up their play. They have made some mistakes but that is expected and spring is the time to work on them. “It has given the young guys more learning and playing time which will make us better down the road”. Jaron Odom, Kyle Plouhar and Bobby Fails have had to step up their play and really learn the offense in their positions. All have made tremendous strides this Spring. The purpose of Spring ball is to help players and coaches to judge where they’re at and to fully understand their assignments. A total of six healthy linemen will be ready to play on Saturday. Currently (all though a couple are questionable) (66) Nasser Jamal and (51) Colin Windsor will play left tackle, (76) Jaron Odom is all by himself at left guard, (74) Kyle Plouhar and (68) Mathew Autrey at center, (61) Bobby Fails and (60) Ian Brooks will play right guard and (73) Jon Decoster will be the lone right tackle. Come out and support the Cajun football team on Saturday March 15 at noon for their Spring game at Cajun Field. |
