Louisiana split the first two games of the series against FIU, but couldn't win the series final as the Golden Panthers held off the Cajuns 8-4 Sunday at M.L."Tigue" Moore Field.

Freshman Michael Cook entered the game with the lead, but would relinquish it before suffering the loss. Cook (3-2) was tagged four five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

The bottom five hitters in Louisiana’s lineup combined for six of the Cajuns’nine hits, while its 3-5 hitters went 0-for-14.

Three different Cajuns recorded two hits –
Josh Logan, Jordan Poirrier and William Long. Brian Bowmanadded a hit and two RBI.

Louisiana concludes its four-game homestand Tuesday when the Ragin’ Cajuns host the Lamar Cardinals at “The Tigue” for Season Ticket Redemption Night.
