visited the Louisiana Ragin'Cajun Football
Camp this past weekend, hoping to impress the staff. Mitchell didn't really know much about the Cajun football program, but knew it was an opportunity to showcase his talent.
"The coaching staff like my footwork and athletic ability I showed in coverage. They see me as a safety in their system, even if I get a little larger."
While Mitchell's first try at the forty was a 4.7, he had run a faster time earlier this summer.
"I knew my first time was not my best, because I had ran a 4.6 in the forty last month. I was not too concerned about the time I ran."
What did the staff have to say about the prospect of Mitchell being part of the Cajun program in the future?
"They told me that they will continue to follow me through the season and will evaluate the game film during the season."
Mandeville senior safety Jerry Mitchell visited Louisiana's 2008 prospect camp Sunday and the staff liked what they saw in the 6-2,195-pound athlete.
