Louisiana Runs Over ULM 44-35

Louisiana’s Ragin’Cajuns used a 295-yard performance on the ground by senior running back Tyrell Fenroy to cruise past the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 44-35, Saturday night in Monroe, La.

Tyrell Fenroy ran for a career-high 297 yards and two touchdowns and Michael Desormeaux accounted for three scores to lead Louisiana to a 44-35 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night.

Fenroy, who finished with 20 carries, helped the Ragin' Cajuns (2-3, 1-0 Sun Belt Conference) break a school record with 728 total yards. The win by Louisianais the second in a row over the Warhawks (1-4, 0-1)in Monroe,the other a 54-21 victory in 2005.

Louisiana-Monroe cut the lead to 34-29 early in the fourth quarter when Greg James returned an interception 55-yard for a touchdown. Frank Goodin later scored on an 11-yard run to trimmed the margin to 37-35, but Trey Revell's pass that was intended for Zeek Zacharie on a two-point conversion went incomplete.

Desormeaux, who scored on a 64-yard run in the second quarter, also connected with Jason Chery on an 87 and 74-yard passing scores.

Radi Jabour made field goals of 42, 19 and 39 yards in the first half for the Warhawks.
