Ashton Tyler Commits To Cajuns
How did Ashton feel about his visit to Cajun Field and the atmosphere for homecoming?
"I really felt at home when I walked into the stadium, Ashton said." "I had been down to Lafayette before, during the summer and we tour the facilities, but I had never been to a game. I like the staff and the atmosphere was great."
Why did he choose the Cajuns over Louisiana Tech?
"Tech is a nice school, but I never felt at home when I visited and they really didn't make the effort to make me feel like it was a program that I wanted to play football at, Tyler said." "UL is just an entirely different environment."
The 6-6,270-pounder made a name for himself this summer when he attend a camp a football camp at Southern Miss and manhandled 4-Star prospect Darrington Sentimore of Destrehan High. Does he enjoy a more aggressive blocking scheme, or does it really matter?
"I really enjoy getting after people and blocking for an aggressive running game, Ashton said." "That is one of the things that attracted me to UL, they use some zone blocking, but are a physical line. I think that is the type of offensive scheme I want to play in and that was another reason I chose UL over Tech."
Some athletes commit to programs early, but are never really comfortable with their decision, are you comfortable in your decision to commit early to the Ragin'Cajuns?
"Absolutely, UL is where I want to play my college football and earn my degree, said Tyler." "I will have no second thoughts about committing to them now."
Ashton Tyler still has some work to do in the classroom; he just recently took the ACT for the second time this year. He scored a 16 on his first try on the test and currently maintains a 2.5 GPA.
