Louisiana’s Ragin’Cajuns football program picked-up their second official commitment Sunday from Teurlings High athlete Andrew Hebert.
Teurlings athlete
Andrew Hebert
decided Sunday that he had waited long enough to make his final decision on his college destination. The 6-2,200-pound Hebert came in this weekend with his father Jay Hebert, a former Cajun football athlete and his mother Denise to speak to Coach Bustle. When it was time for Hebert to leave with his parents, his decision was final.
“I just decided it was time to make my decision, stated Andrew.” “Things really haven’t changed for me recently as for as offers, so I felt
UL
was the place I wanted to play.”
Andrew had received interest early on from BCS programs like
Notre Dame
,
Oklahoma
, and
Oregon
. But Hebert has heard mostly from state schools like
Tulane
and Southeastern Louisiana since spring.
“Tulane was on me during the spring, but I haven’t heard anything from them lately, Hebert said.” “My only two offers right now are from UL and Southeastern Louisiana.”
Andrew Hebert was the featured athlete on a very good Teurlings offense this past season. Hebert had over 1,452 yards in total offense going into the Belle Chase playoff game, along with 12 touchdowns.
“I played mostly at running back and receiver on offense, Andrew said.” “I also played defensive back on the other side of the ball at times.”
Why did Andrew hold off on his decision to make a commitment during the fall?
“I wanted to focus on this football season, work on my academics and look at all my options, Hebert stated.” “This is my senior year and I knew that I needed to focus on playing football and work on my academics.”
Andrew’s hard work in the class has paid off recently, as he scored a 20 on the ACT.
