Chris Gradnigo scored a career-high 31 points in UL's victory over FIU on Thursday night in the Cajun Dome.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (8-14, 5-6 Sun Belt) were one game removed from shooting 27 percent (18-of-67) overall and five percent (2-of-38) from three-point range last Saturday at Florida Atlantic. Louisiana rebounded in style hitting 49 percent (26-of-53) overall and draining 14 triples while shooting 47 percent from three-point range (14-of-30).

The end result was the Cajuns collecting their second straight home victory and ending a brief two-game slide in Sun Belt Conference play.

Chris Gradnigo scored a career-high 31 points to pace the Cajuns. He and Randell Daigle (15 points) each hit five 3-pointers.

Louisiana now takes to the road for the next two outings. The Cajuns start the second half of round robin play in the Sun Belt West Division on Saturday, Feb. 7 in Denton, Texas, against North Texas at 7 p.m., in The Super Pit. That’s followed by a trip to Monroe to face in-state rival ULM on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
