Cajuns Expect Several Visitors at Scrimmage

Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns football will team will host several 2010 signees on their official visits during tomorrows scrimmage. The Cajun football staff will also host another unsigned athlete for his first official visit to UL.

The Cajun RedZone has verified that 2010 signees DB Earnest Gardner from Tara High in Baton Rouge and RB Aaron Spikes out of LG Pinkston High in Dallas, Texas. Neither athlete has been able to make an official visit to UL after signing letters-of-intent last month on National Signing Day.

Aaron Spikes was the Cajuns highest rated high school signee in this year's class, ranked #63 RB in the country by Spikes is expected to challenge for a spot in the running back rotation this fall as a true freshman. Spikes stated in a text to me early this week he is looking forward to the visit and meeting the staff and some of the athletes for the first time, face to face. He also looks forward to watching the scrimmage and visiting the campus with his parents.

Earnest Gardner was one the last commitments to the 2010 Cajun class. Gardner was unable to visit during basketball season, but will make his first trip to Cajun Field for tomorrows scrimmage.

The Cajuns will finally host the much rumored and unsigned former LSU Commitment Houston Bates. Bates is in town tonight with family and has told the coaching staff that he intends on visiting SMU as well this spring. He will attend tomorrows scrimmage and will visit with the staff before scrimmage preparations.

The Cajun RedZone will have more on the Cajuns first spring scrimmage and comments from tomorrow's visitors on Saturday's late update. Recommended Stories
