Governor Jindal Announces the Appointment of E. Gerald Hebert to University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors

BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of E. Gerald Hebert to the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors’ responsibilities include, selecting the presidents of system institutions, determining fees paid by students, purchasing land and buildings for universities, formulating curricula and programs of study, exchanging university property, seeking financial assistance for universities, and allocating university system expenditures.

According to statute, the board is comprised of sixteen members and must include one student member, two members from each congressional district appointed by governor, and one at-large-member appointed by governor. The appointments are subject to senate confirmation.

E. Gerald Hebert, of Kenner, is the owner and president of Patriot Services Corp., a drilling and fluid services company and has been active in the University of Louisiana Lafayette community for several decades. Hebert will serve as an at-large member as required by statute.
